I loved this musical comedy. Warm, funny, deeply humane and timeless it spoke to my soul. Turning a miserable world on its head, Allegra’s refusal to accept the lie that life should be boring and negative shakes up ideas about what is ‘normal’ and advocates for a life vibrant with the beauty and power of the imagination. Maureen Lipman’s performance was bursting with talent and magic, effortlessly in command of a character who, whilst never conventional, demonstrated a way of living firmly on the side of joyousness. All the cast’s performances were superb, enabling a production with more brio and love than I have seen for a while. Delivering a straightforward message about the wrongness of medicalising extravagant personality this play resonated with everything I know - hard won - about what the world could be like if the narrow tramlines of acceptability were widened to let in variety, true diversity and all the colours of the rainbow that make up humankind.

A wonderful show. Very funny with a cast who seemed to be really enjoying working together. Maureen Lipman was totally amazing. They just need to sort out some of the sound issues

An uplifting show which questions why should we stifle happiness of people just because at a particular moment we might not be in a certain place ourselves. It was so well done and we loved it.

This was a lovely ‘heart warming’ show, perfect if you are looking for some happy escapism for a couple of hours. Laugh out loud funny with likeable characters, Dame Maureen steals the show. Even at 80 her comic timing is impeccable. A well deserved standing ovation.

Allegra was absolutely hilarious from start to finish. The plot was clever, well-paced, and kept me entertained the whole way through. The cast delivered brilliant performances, with perfect comic timing that had the audience laughing throughout. It’s one of those shows that never loses momentum and leaves you smiling long after it’s over. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, feel-good night out.

I've seen it twice. Once in bath and yesterday I brought my friend who said it's the best show she's seen in years. The cast is all outstanding Maureen Lipman is so fantastic, talent, verve and energy Just loved every second May have to come for the third time!
