Open a cabinet of curiosities curated by a master of the macabre. Based on his illustrated memoir Things I Took from the Dark: The Museum of Me, comedian and writer Reece Shearsmith heads out on a live tour in which he’ll unlock his private archive of the bizarre and unusual that have informed who he is and what he does. Audiences will be guided through Reece’s assortment of peculiar artefacts acquired through his life and the stories that go with them, ranging from eerie childhood memories in Hull to supernatural occurrences on late-night film sets. The evening culminates in an onstage conversation with a special guest host, followed by an audience Q&A.
Reece Shearsmith is a multi-award-winning actor, writer, and comedian best known for his contributions to the darker, stranger side of British comedy. As member of the team behind the BAFTA-winning series The League of Gentlemen, sitcom Psychoville and the anthology Inside No. 9, Shearsmith has spent decades creating comedy that effortlessly shift between the hilarious and the unsettling.
